Install
Live on your store in three steps.
- 01
Install the app
Approve the app in Shopify and pick a plan. Billing runs through your Shopify invoice. - 02
Switch on the app embed
One toggle in the theme editor. No theme code edits; switching it off removes Benchmyrk from the storefront. - 03
Build and launch
Edit on your live store, describe a test to AI, or set up a price, offer or shipping test. Launch checks run first.
Measurement
Results from Shopify's own data.
The numbers that decide a test come from Shopify: checkout events from the web pixel and revenue from orders.
Settings inlined in the page
The app embed writes the store's live test settings into the page, so variants apply before first paint with no extra request.Web pixel funnel events
Product views, add to cart and checkout steps come from Shopify's web pixel, including checkout pages your theme can't see.Paid orders, refunds taken off
Revenue comes from Shopify orders once paid; refunds and cancellations are subtracted from the variant that sold them.Measurement health
Checks that the app embed and the web pixel are working, and flags duplicate events before they distort a result.
Shopify-only test types
Tests your checkout honours.
Shopify Functions apply each group's price, offer or shipping at checkout, so shoppers pay what they were shown.
Price testsShopify
Each group sees and pays its own price: a Shopify discount function charges the arm's price at checkout. Results show revenue and gross profit per visitor.Offer and discount testsShopify
10% off against $10 off, spend tiers or buy X get Y. Checkout applies each group's offer, and results subtract the discount.Shipping testsShopify
Free shipping from $50 or $75, or a share off shipping. Checkout gives each group its shipping offer.Template testsShopify
Send part of your traffic to an alternate product or collection template. No theme writes; the canonical URL stays the same.
Profit
Judge on profit, not just revenue.
Benchmyrk reads the unit costs on your Shopify products when each order is placed. Add payment fees and shipping costs, and results show gross profit per visitor, margin and profit per order.
Discounts counted
Offer and price tests subtract what each group was given.Costs at order time
Product costs are read when the order is placed, not today.
Shopify questions
Is Benchmyrk embedded in the Shopify admin?
No. Benchmyrk opens in its own web app. You sign in with your Shopify staff account from the app's page in your admin, and everyone on your team gets their own role.
Does it work with Shopify Markets?
Targeting can use the visitor's country or Shopify Market. Price tests run in one currency per test; wider Markets support is still being built.
Will it slow down my store?
bc.js is 11.3 KB. On Shopify the test settings are inlined in the page, so there is no extra request before variants apply. Our measured page-speed results and method are on the home page.
Can I judge tests on profit?
Yes. With product costs set in Shopify and your payment and shipping costs in Benchmyrk, results show gross profit per visitor next to revenue.
What happens to my data if I uninstall?
Benchmyrk stops running on the storefront at once and the store's Shopify access is removed. When Shopify sends its store deletion request 48 hours later, we erase the store's data.
